As part of the development of international professional cooperation and exchange of experience, the leadership of Uzbekistan's endocrinology service successfully completed a certified advanced training course in Japan under the program "Healthcare in Japan: Organization of Medical Services and Innovative Technologies in Medicine. Treatment and Prevention of Diabetes and Related Endocrine Diseases."
From May 26 to June 2, 2026, a delegation from the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology named after Academician Y.Kh. Turakulov, led by the Center's Director, Professor Anvar Valievich Alimov, completed a certified internship course in Japan. The delegation included the Center's deputy directors and the heads of all 14 regional branches of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology. Upon completion of the training, the participants were awarded international certificates.
As part of the program, participants studied the experience of one of the most effective healthcare systems in the world, learned about the activities of leading university and multidisciplinary clinics in Japan, and explored modern approaches to organizing medical care, digitalizing healthcare, ensuring patient safety, managing the quality of medical services, and preventing chronic noncommunicable diseases.
Of particular interest to Uzbek specialists were Japanese models for the early detection of diabetes mellitus and its complications, a patient routing system, the organization of specialized centers, mechanisms for continuous medical education, and the introduction of digital technologies into the management of medical institutions.
The knowledge gained has significant practical implications for the further development of our country's endocrinology services. The lessons learned will be used to improve the system of providing endocrinological care to the population, enhance the efficiency of the Center's regional branches, implement modern methods of disease prevention and early diagnosis, improve the quality of patient follow-up, and develop digital solutions in healthcare.
The internship was conducted as part of the implementation of the objectives set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to modernize the healthcare system, implement international standards of medical care, develop human resources, and improve the quality of medical services for the population. We are confident that the experience gained will contribute to the further strengthening of the country's endocrinology services, improving the quality of life of patients, and achieving the strategic goals of healthcare reform in the New Uzbekistan.
We express our sincere gratitude to our Japanese partners, heads of medical institutions, specialists from the Japanese healthcare system, and the International Academy of Management and Technology INTAMT for the high level of training organization, professional exchange of experience, and support for international cooperation.
